The 2026 Seventh-day Adventist Youth Week concluded in Angola with record results, as the Southwestern Union of Seventh-day Adventists (USASDA) reported 3,518 baptisms and 1,434 blood donations.
According to Adventist pastor Jones Ndala Victorino, Youth Ministries director for USASDA, the figures represent an increase from the previous year, when 3,200 baptisms were recorded.
Evangelism across regions
The baptisms were distributed across the three regions of the Southwestern Union. The Central Mission reported 1,446 baptisms, followed by the Coastal Mission with 1,389 and the Southern Mission with 683.
Although provisional, these figures indicate the highest number of baptisms recorded during a single Youth Week in the region.
Community impact through blood donation
In addition to its spiritual focus, Youth Week included community service initiatives. Through the “Kambas de Sangue” project, Adventist youth donated 1,434 units of blood across nine provinces in central and southern Angola.
The Central region contributed 749 units, the Southern region 398, and the Coastal region 325.
Organizers said the initiative has become one of the most recognized outreach programs of the Adventist Church in Angola, reflecting a commitment to both spiritual mission and community well-being.
Growth and participation
Reflecting on the results, Victorino said, "The results achieved are worthy of the highest recognition. Last year, 3,200 souls were baptized, whereas in 2026 that number rose to 3,518, reflecting significant growth," highlighting the continued engagement of young people across the region.
In addition to baptisms and blood donation, Youth Week activities included weddings, house construction, food distribution, and other community-based initiatives. Organizers indicated that further details will be shared in future reports.
